Dutch Treat Canoe Trip June 13-2010, Jemseg River, Jemseg, New Brunswick

Dutch Treat NB tried out a new event: a canoe trip with teenagers 14 and over including some parents on the Jemseg River, between the new Hwy 2 Jemseg Bridge and Lower Jemseg as far as the Gagetown Ferry crossing. It turned out to be a rainy afternoon later in the canoe trip, but everyone seems to have enjoyed the one and a half hour canoe ride, and this event will be repeated some time in the near future. In all, 19 people from across the province participated. 

First three canoes are in the Jemseg River.  Last canoe of five canoes to be launched at the New Jemseg Highway # 2 bridge with Maartje, Regiene, Meghan,and Rob at the launching pad.

Slowly but surely they are coming closer to the Gagetown Ferry crossing. Forever getting closer.

  First one at Ferry crossing: Nick, Lizanne and Jeroen, followed by Katrien, Ineke, Celeste.

   Maartje, Regiene, Meghan and Rob Philippa's portable kitchen is all set up and its tea time.

 Rob, Rinie and Harm-Stories and Hot Dog Buns with Rookworst  The ladies are wet and cold. Blankets were a welcome site, as the rained on people, tried to get dry and warm.

Dutch Treat New Brunswick and Go Green Go Dutch Go Bike event June 6, 2010

It was wet and rainy all day during the third Go Green Go Dutch Go Bike event in Fredericton, NB on june 6th. Nevertheless, a group of young people from the Fredericton Multicultural Association, and Katrien of the Sweet Belgian Desire Cafe at the Arts Center on Charlotte Street, together with some of her customer friends, all came biking down the two trails, the Nashwaak and Gibson. After the wet bike hike, we enjoyed some BBQ'ed Hot Dogs, and chatted with all the new Go Green Go Dutch Go Bike participants. We hope for a dryer event next year.!!!
